Give every player a random NFL team
Open Assign teams to players, paste the players' names and press Assign teams. Each player gets a different team from your chosen group, and you can copy the list straight into a group chat.
Ways to use a random NFL team picker
- Football video games: settle who plays as whom in a Madden-style franchise, or run a random-team challenge where you rebuild whichever team you land on.
- Office pools and parties: assign each guest a team for a season-long pool or a game-day squares sheet.
- Fantasy football: draw a random draft order by giving each manager a team, or pick a random defense to stream.
- Kids and classrooms: geography practice: spin a team and find its city on the map.

Frequently asked questions
How many teams are in the NFL?
There are 32 NFL teams. The 32 teams play in two conferences, the AFC (American Football Conference) and the NFC (National Football Conference). Each conference has four divisions (East, North, South and West) of four teams.
How does the random NFL team generator pick a team?
Your browser draws the team with its cryptographic random number generator before the animation starts, so every team in your chosen group has the same chance. The spin is only for show.
Can I avoid getting the same team twice?
Yes. Leave No repeats ticked and each team comes up once before the list resets. Untick it if you want every spin to be fully independent.
Can I give each person in my group a different team?
Yes. Use Assign teams to players, paste up to 32 names and press Assign teams. Nobody gets the same team as anyone else.
Why do some cities have two NFL teams?
New York and Los Angeles each have two: the New York Giants and New York Jets (both play in New Jersey), and the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. They are listed separately, so each is its own pick.
Is this an official NFL site?
No. It is an independent free tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NFL or any team. It shows only team and city names, with no logos.
